About Akkeshi Distillery
Akkeshi Distillery was created by Kenten Jitsugyo, led by Keiichi Toita in 2016 in the remote town of Akkeshi, Hokkaido. Unlike many new whisky drinkers, he was not put off by the smoky, peaty notes of Islay malts when experiencing for the first time at a bar in Ginza — he calls his first experience with Ardbeg 17 year old an “unforgettable” one. In 2020, the Akkeshi Distillery released their first single malt Japanese whisky.

This special bottling of the inaugural Whisky Live Macau 2024 is coming from a single sherry butt, distilled in 2020. It shows the typical character of the distillery with the peaty, citrusy and the breeze of the ocean, revealing the exquisite Hokkaido taste.  

Tasting Note:
Aroma: Peat, raisins, yellow citrus.
Flavour: Citrus jam, burnt soy sauce.
Aftertaste: Pink pepper, salted lemon, refreshing citrus peel bitters.
